Fibsen and DEYAPH join forces to demonstrate an advanced leak detection system in the water supply network of Pylaia - Chortiatis
Jan 19, 2023
From now on, the employees of the Municipal Water and Sewerage Company of Pylaia - Chortiatis (DEYAPH) are informed in real time about the existence of leaks in the water supply network directly through their tablets and smartphones. The results of the pilot application of the TALOS project, funded by the Innowise Scale 2021 program, exceeded all expectations.
The system was installed and successfully tested in a 1,200-meter long water transfer pipeline from a water well in the settlement of Hortiatis to a water supply tank serving 2,000 residents.
This revolutionary leak detection technology, based on an innovative fiber-optics sensing system and smart data processing, is perfectly aligned with the goal of infrastructure digitalization and sustainability. This solution will provide DEYAPH with a low cost, low maintenance, and low energy consumption monitoring system, which provides real-time control of the structural condition of the water supply network.
About DEYAPH: The Municipal Water and Sewerage Company of Pylaia - Chortiatis (DEYAPH) is a leading organization responsible for providing reliable water and sewerage services to the residents of Pylaia - Hortiatis. Committed to excellence, DEYAPH strives to implement innovative solutions that ensure the efficient management of water resources, environmental sustainability, and the well-being of the community.
Feedback after installation
"Our aim is to have a complete supervision of the networks and a clearer picture on issues of leaks, the level of the wells, but also the tanks. We make rational use of water. Our purpose is to integrate and homogenize the tele-control and tele-surveillance systems in the municipal unit of Hortiatis, with the four settlements of Hortiatis, Exokhi, Asvestochori and Filiro", the chairman of the Board of Directors of DEWA of Pylaia Hortiatis, Christos Boutsivaris, pointed out to Greenagenda.gr .
